We keep it simple. Two float routes, both on the Illinois River. One’s quick. One’s long. Both hit right.

6-Mile Float: Short, easy, done in 2–3 hours. Perfect for first-timers or folks who want time back at camp.

12-Mile Float: The long haul. Plan for 4–6 hours and bring snacks. More river, more stories.

We’ve got rafts for 4, 6, or 8 people. Just pick the size, pack the cooler (no glass), and hit the water.

Where Weekends Matter

Long floats, loud nights, and river mornings you’ll feel for days. At Diamondhead, you don’t just stay, you show up.
Clear, cold, and made for floating. The Illinois winds through our backyard and calls for lazy days and late nights.
Your own space, steps from the river. Fully furnished, climate controlled, and built for weekends that don’t need a tent.
Shady spots, hot showers, and the river just a short walk away. Bring a tent, grab your people, and stay awhile.

From live music to full-blown festivals, Diamondhead keeps the good times rolling all season long.

Why Our Guests Keep Coming Back

The river tells one story. Our guests tell the rest. Here’s what they have to say about weekends spent sunburnt & barefoot.
4/5

“Everyone Was Friendly...”

First time to float to Illinois River so obviously first time at this outfitter. They were very organized and friendly. We were able to get on our bus and be on the river at the time we were scheduled to upon getting off the river the little shuttle bus showed up immediately to pick us up. Everyone was friendly and I will use them again.

“It Was Pretty Perfect.”

This place was beautiful, well ran, clean and well staffed with friendly folks. Float was amazing. It was Labor Day weekend so we were packed in like sardines, other than that it was pretty perfect.
